Empowering women into leadership roles to be discussed at FORE – NHRDN conference

Will organizations be able to perform better with more women in the top?

Organizations are increasingly recognizing that women do bring substantive diversity to company boards in terms of their composition, skill sets and experiences.  Women will in fact pave a way to bring about new forms of leadership and success in industry.

‘Power of Women Leaders – The Competitive Edge’ will be the theme of the conference organised by the National Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN), in association with FORE School of Management, on the 22nd of March, 2013 at the Sheraton Hotel in Saket, New Delhi.

This conference addresses key challenges faced by women in the work place and will deliberate on the competitive edge that women leadership will provide in organizations.   The conference will have three stimulating sessions, titled ‘Women Leaders – The X Factor’, ‘Next Gen Women Leaders: The Way Forward’ and a brainstorming session with audience participation, called ‘Ideas For You And Me’.

The first session will focus on the impact women in leadership roles can have on an organisation, whether there is an X factor that they bring to work, and women’s leadership and various success stories. The second session, a panel discussion, will centre on addressing challenges faced by women in the workplace, developing leadership qualities in Next Gen women, creating a system to enable women to succeed and how women can help themselves. The third session will source ideas that participants can implement and organisations can develop.

It is hoped that the conference will promote an understanding of the difference women managers can make to businesses and develop on the theme of the needs of women managers and plans to address these needs. The aim of the conference is also to look at ways to put more women in leadership roles and the role mentoring can play in creating women leaders. This conference is aimed at men and women alike, and organisers hope to draw young and senior managers, professionals, CEOs, human resource leaders, women entrepreneurs and academicians to share their views.

Fees to participate are: Rs. 5,000 for NHRD Network members; Rs. 6,000 for non-members; Rs. 3,500 for academicians and Rs. 2,000 for students. Combination offers are available – Rs. 7,500 will cover the participation fee plus an individual annual membership and Rs. 15,000 will cover participation fees and a lifetime individual membership. A 10 per cent discount will be applied for three or more participants from the same organisation and a 15 per cent discount for five or more participants from the same company.
